Chipotle Employee Assaulted
In South Carolina, authorities have identified and charged two suspects allegedly involved in the assault of a 20-year-old Chipotle employee.
The altercation ignited when a request for extra chicken resulted in a dispute over pricing.
Suspects and Charges
Jamel Bernard Williams, 36, and Kayla Nicole Pyle, 34, from Charlotte, are facing charges related to the attack.
Williams is charged with assault and first-degree battery, while Pyle faces charges of assault and second-degree battery.
Altercation Over Extra Chicken
The incident began when Pyle entered the fast-food restaurant to place an order and asked for additional chicken.
Upon being informed of the additional cost by the employee, a verbal dispute ensued between Pyle and the unidentified worker.
Violent Assault
As the employee attempted to leave her shift, Williams reportedly entered the dining area from another side and attacked her.
Williams, described as 6 feet 3 inches tall, pushed the employee to the ground, physically assaulted her, pulled her hair, and jerked her around. Pyle also joined in assaulting the victim.
Intervention and Escape
Quick intervention from other customers prevented further harm as they pulled Williams away from the victim.
Both suspects managed to escape in a gray 2021 Dodge Charger before authorities arrived at the scene.
Sheriff’s Statement and Appeal
Sheriff Barry Faile condemned the assault, urging the suspects to surrender and allow the judicial system to proceed with the case.
He emphasized that the attack was unwarranted and expressed hope for the victim’s recovery.
Ongoing Investigation
While a male juvenile was identified with Pyle and Williams, he will not face charges. The victim, declining treatment at the scene, sought medical attention independently. Authorities continue their investigation into the incident.
