TS Galaxy has bolstered their squad for the upcoming 2024/25 DStv Premiership season with the signing of Qobolwakhe Sibande from Stellenbosch FC.
This move comes as the Rockets gear up for what promises to be an exciting campaign in the Premiership.
As TS Galaxy prepares for the new season, they aim to build on their impressive performance last year, where they finished sixth in the league standings.
They garnered attention by winning 12 matches, drawing eight, and experiencing 10 defeats over 30 games.
Additionally, they clinched a silver medal in the 2023 Carling Knockout Cup after a narrow 5-4 penalty shootout loss to Stellenbosch FC in December 2023.
Squad Changes Ahead
The Tim Sukazi-led team is set for some changes in their squad lineup.
Notably, they bid farewell to key players such as captain Pogiso Sanoka, Lehlogonolo Mojela, and Fiacre Ntwari.
Sanoka has moved to SuperSport United on a two-year deal, while Mojela made a switch to Stellenbosch FC. Fiacre Ntwari, on the other hand, has joined Kaizer Chiefs, as reported by FARPost.
Qobolwakhe Sibande Joins TS Galaxy
TS Galaxy has secured the services of Qobolwakhe Sibande from Stellenbosch FC to strengthen their left-back position.
Sibande, who often played as a substitute at Stellenbosch, looks forward to gaining more regular playing time with his new team.
“Qobolwakhe Sibande is now a TS Galaxy player after Stellenbosch and TS Galaxy reached an agreement,” a source revealed.
“It’s a fresh start for Sibande, and he will be looking to cement a regular starting berth at TS Galaxy because he hasn’t played as much as he would have loved to at Stellenbosch.
“He’s a quality player who can play as a left-back, left-winger, and left-footed centre-back, showcasing his versatility and skill set.”
In addition to Sibande, TS Galaxy has also acquired Siphesihle Maduna on a free transfer from Cape Town Spurs, adding depth and talent to their roster.
Looking Ahead
With these signings and ongoing preparations, TS Galaxy is poised to make a mark in the upcoming DStv Premiership season, aiming to build on their successes and contend at the highest level of South African football.
