According to AFP, the 72-year-old victim was attempting to relocate a crocodile from a cage where it had laid eggs.

Unfortunately, during the process, the crocodile seized the stick the man was using as a tool and dragged him into the enclosure.

The group of reptiles quickly turned on the man, viciously tearing his body apart and leaving the concrete enclosure at the farm in Siem Reap covered in blood.

Mey Savry, the police chief of Siem Reap commune, shared with AFP, “While he was chasing a crocodile out of an egg-laying cage, the crocodile attacked the stick, causing him to fall into the enclosure.”

In a separate incident, Mark Montgomery, a well-known and experienced guide in the Kruger National Park, had a harrowing encounter with a 3.5-meter-long crocodile.

Montgomery was leading a group on the Kruger Trail in Mpumalanga when they decided to take a brief break near the Metsi Metsi River, as reported by the South Coast Herald.

While trying to collect clean water from a section of the river, Montgomery suddenly noticed the crocodile’s head emerging from the water on his third scoop.

In a split second, Montgomery found himself pulled into the water by the crocodile, despite his efforts to retrieve his hand.

One of the guests bravely jumped in to assist Montgomery, but the crocodile proved too swift for them.

The reptile had firmly gripped Montgomery’s hand in its powerful jaws.

Quick-thinking, Montgomery instinctively wrapped his hand around the crocodile’s neck, attempting to reach its eyes to deter the attack or pry open its mouth.

The crocodile relentlessly tried to submerge Montgomery, but his constant kicking prevented it from succeeding.

Remarkably, Montgomery managed to fend off the crocodile and escape the life-threatening situation.

These events serve as a tragic reminder of the inherent dangers involved in interacting with wild animals, underscoring the need for caution and expertise when dealing with such creatures.
