Stepmother compiles a distressing list of her daughter’s living circumstances in Wagga Wagga, NSW Teenager’s stepmother forbade her from having visitors and enforced harsh living conditions on her.
A youngster was subjected to a frightening set of limitations imposed on her by her stepmother, including being prohibited from going upstairs or inviting people over.
The 16-year-old girl was forced to adhere to a list of horrible restrictions while living in a home in Wagga Wagga, in the Riverina region of NSW.
The stepmother dictated and wrote the strangely named documents, “Welcome to the concentration camp and conditions of living.”
Since then, the 16-year-old has matured and is preparing to give birth to a child of her own.
She revealed the list that, as an adolescent, she was made to follow.
The woman posted on Facebook, “I want to hear everyone’s thoughts on this contract my stepmother made for me to be able to live with herself and my dad.”
I must have shut this out because it has now come to light, and reading it has ignited my spirit since I am expecting my first child and am wondering how on earth someone could do this to a 16-year-old.
The alarming document is headed with a strong warning.
Please be aware that if you want a roof over your head and food on the table, none of the following points may ever be modified or bent.
While certain regulations, like not using drugs, alcohol, or smoking on the property, and taking her clothing to the laundromat, seem acceptable, others are far harsher.
The child was not allowed to invite anybody over, including a friend, and she was not allowed to leave the house unless her father gave her permission.
The doors and windows of the house must always be locked.
She was also limited in where she could travel inside the house because she was forbidden from going upstairs or “inside out the front” for “any reason.”
The adolescent was told to find work, give her stepmother $100 per “pay day,” with the proviso that it “may be adjusted depending on your earnings,” and show a pay stub.
She also had to maintain “immaculate cleanliness” in her bedroom, make her bed every morning, wash the dishes, keep the kitchen tidy, cleanse the bathroom every four days, and routinely change the cushions on the couch.
The youngster would be forced to go to bed at 9 p.m. and get out of bed by 8 a.m. or 9 a.m. on weekends, according to her stepmother, who refused to give her the home keys.
The girl was forbidden from requesting money “for anything.”
The stepmother concluded by writing, “Your belongings will be packed immediately and it will be up to you to source alternate accommodation if any of the above rules are broken at any time or the time frame (in regards to getting a job) is not met.”
No questions were posed.Social media users expressed pity for the teenager while harshly criticizing the stepmother for the rigid living requirements.
It is abusive. One of them said, “I can’t believe your dad allowed this.”
I’m sorry this happened to you.
‘Wanted you to act like an adult but treated you like a prisoner,’ another added.
That is messed up.
Until I read Wagga, I thought there was no way this could be in Australia.
Another user said, “What the f!!! (sic).”
One person remarked: “In addition to being abusive, her rules are also illogical!”
It follows that while you are not permitted to keep any filthy clothes in your room, you are also prohibited from using the washing machine until you have a full load.
HUH?”She’s scheduled to work, although the home is locked and there are no keys.
In reaction to the comment, someone made a point.
