After their impressive victory in the Rugby Championship, the Springboks are set to ramp up their preparations for the upcoming November tour.
Some members of the squad will soon head to Jersey, one of the largest Channel Islands nestled between England and France, for a week-long training camp.
This time will be crucial for focusing on conditioning and gearing up for their matches against Scotland, England, and Wales.
Injury Concerns Loom
Unfortunately, not all players will be able to participate due to injuries.
Two key World Cup winners, Steven Kitshoff, who is dealing with a neck issue, and Lood de Jager, recovering from a shoulder injury, are expected to be sidelined.
Rising talent Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu is also likely to miss out as he continues his recovery from knee surgery.
Additionally, Evan Roos may not be in contention after undergoing a recent shoulder operation.
Salmaan Moerat’s Setback
Adding to the list of absentees, Salmaan Moerat, who has played in seven Tests this year and captained the team in three of them, will miss the November internationals due to a knee operation.
Stormers assistant coach Dawie Snyman has provided an update, indicating that Moerat is on track to return in time for the coastal derby against the Sharks in Durban on November 30.
“Salmaan isn’t available for next week’s game against the Glasgow Warriors,” Snyman confirmed.
“He will be back at the end of November after a small procedure.”
