Siya Kolisi’s Wife Rachel Kolisi Opens Up About Cherished Moments with Brother-in-Law Liyema During Cape Town Adventure

Rachel Kolisi recently shared a heartwarming update on Instagram about a special day she spent with her brother-in-law, Liyema Kolisi.

In her post on Saturday, September 7, Rachel talked about taking a much-needed “day off” to recharge and focus on activities that nourish her mind, body, and soul.

A Memorable Hike Up Lion’s Head

Rachel kicked off her day with a workout and later enjoyed a hike up Lion’s Head with Liyema.

She reflected on how precious it was to have some quality one-on-one time with him, something she hadn’t had in a while.

She shared her experience with her followers, saying, “I finished off Friday with a hike up Lion’s Head with @offlame_g.

It’s been ages since we’ve had a moment like this, and while we were at the top, munching on an apple and chatting, my heart was just overflowing with gratitude.

For the health, the view, for Liyema, and even for my apple—simple moments like these are truly the best.”

Rachel also used the opportunity to remind her followers to take time for themselves and submit leave forms when possible. It’s all about filling up your cup.

Celebrating Springboks’ Victory and Reflecting on Adoption

Rachel’s post came just before the Springboks’ impressive victory over the All Blacks at the DHL Stadium in Cape Town.

Marise Pollard also took to Instagram to celebrate the Springboks’ win.

In August, Rachel had reflected on a significant milestone in her family’s journey.

She and Siya had made the decision a decade ago to bring his younger siblings, Liyema and Liphelo, into their home.

After their mother’s passing, the siblings had been in foster care until Rachel and Siya could adopt them.

Rachel reminisced about the moment, saying, “While celebrating Liphelo’s birthday last week, and having all four kids home for the weekend, we looked back on the fact that almost exactly ten years ago, Liphelo and Liyema came to stay with us for a week in Cape Town.

We wanted to see if they were comfortable with the idea of moving in with us permanently. I was 24, Nic was just 3 months old, Liphelo had just turned 7, and Liyema was 12.

It’s been ten years of the greatest gift God could have given me.”
