On Wednesday, September 4th, Rachel Kolisi, wife of Springboks captain Siya Kolisi, took a moment to celebrate their son Nicholas on Instagram as he turned 10.
The proud mom shared a heartfelt tribute, reflecting on the journey they’ve had with their firstborn.
A Miracle in Every Way
Nicholas, born prematurely, holds a special place in Rachel’s heart.
She affectionately referred to him as her “miracle prem baby” in her post.
Rachel expressed her gratitude for being his mother, highlighting his kind and empathetic nature.
“He is all the good things,” she wrote, clearly cherishing the young man he’s becoming.
The Kolisi Family Bond
Beyond Nicholas, the Kolisi household is bustling with love and life.
In addition to their son, Rachel and Siya are parents to six-year-old Keziah.
The family’s story is also deeply enriched by the presence of Siya’s younger siblings, Liyema and Liphelo, whom the couple adopted in 2014.
Recently, Rachel reflected on the 10 years since Liyema and Liphelo became part of their family.
Sharing her thoughts on Instagram, she recounted the day, a decade ago, when the siblings came to Cape Town to see if they felt comfortable moving in permanently.
It was a significant moment that changed all their lives.
A Story of Resilience and Love
Siya’s siblings, Liyema and Liphelo, experienced a heartbreaking childhood.
After the tragic loss of their mother in 2009, the siblings found themselves in foster care, bouncing between homes.
Siya, who shares the same mother as his siblings, eventually located them in Zwide, a township in Gqeberha.
His sister didn’t even recognize him at first.
By 2014, when Siya and Rachel were financially stable, they were able to bring Liyema and Liphelo into their home, giving them the stability and love they deserved.
The Kolisi family’s journey is one of resilience, love, and unwavering support for one another.
What’s Next for the Kolisis?
As their family continues to grow and evolve, it’s clear that the Kolisis are committed to nurturing each other through life’s challenges and joys.
With Nicholas now entering double digits, there’s no doubt that this dynamic family will continue to inspire and thrive together.
