The phrase “black job” has been used by Trump on several occasions, including a contentious speech he gave at the National Association of Black Journalists event in Chicago.
During this speech, Trump claimed that immigrants were taking “black jobs” away, a comment that sparked significant backlash and online mockery.
A popular meme making the rounds featured Vice President Kamala Harris, with an image of her smiling as she walked through a curtain, accompanied by the caption: “Did somebody say ‘black job?’” This meme playfully suggested that Harris, as a likely Democratic nominee, fit the description.
The timing of Biles’ post is notable, given the recent resurfacing of comments from Trump’s running mate, J.D. Vance.
Vance, the Ohio Republican, had previously criticized Biles for withdrawing from the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, labeling her as “weak” for stepping away.
Vance had expressed his opinion that while Biles was under immense pressure, the media had exaggerated her withdrawal from the Olympic team as an act of heroism.
He argued that society’s tendency to praise moments of vulnerability rather than strength reflected poorly on the media and our therapeutic culture.

Despite the criticism, Biles has remained steadfast in her commitment to mental health, openly discussing her struggles with the “twisties” — a mental block that affects spatial awareness and can be dangerous for gymnasts.

This week, Biles’ remarkable performance helped Team USA secure the Team All-Around gold medal. She followed up with an Individual All-Around gold medal on Thursday, solidifying her legacy as the most decorated gymnast in U.S. history.
