…By Dorcas Funmi for TDPel Media. Former federal lawmaker Shehu Sani has made assertions that the position of “Minister of State” was established as a means to accommodate individuals with ministerial appointments.
Sani expressed his opinion on Twitter, stating that the government should reduce the number of ministers in order to decrease the cost of governance.
According to him, the country has only twenty ministries, yet there are 43 people appointed as ministers.
Sani suggests that cutting down on the number of ministers would be a step towards reducing the overall cost of governance.
In another development, Sani publicly challenged Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State, to disclose his assets by publishing the forms he submitted to the Code of Conduct Bureau.
Sani accused El-Rufai of leaving a significant debt burden for Kaduna State, despite El-Rufai’s claim that he never misappropriated state funds.
Taking to Twitter, Sani criticized El-Rufai, alleging that he has turned to blogging on the platform while waiting for a political appointment from Bola Tinubu, after having previously worked for Rotimi Amaechi, who is considered a rival to Tinubu.
Sani accused El-Rufai of dropping negative stories about Tinubu.
Sani challenged El-Rufai to publicly disclose his assets by publishing the content of the forms he submitted to the Code of Conduct Bureau in 2015 and 2023.
Sani claimed that one of El-Rufai’s allies even stated that El-Rufai is now poorer. Sani dared El-Rufai to make his assets public and promised to respond after El-Rufai fulfills this request.
