Selaelo Rasebotja Adjusts to Life at Orlando Pirates After Leaving SuperSport United

Selaelo Rasebotja, the newly signed midfielder for Orlando Pirates, is navigating a significant transition to life with the Soweto giants.

Having spent four years at SuperSport United following his graduation from the School of Excellence, Rasebotja’s move marks a pivotal moment in his career.

Joining Orlando Pirates makes Rasebotja the third player to transition from SuperSport to Bucs in recent times, following in the footsteps of Patrick Maswanganyi and Thalente Mbatha.

His debut appearance for the club occurred during their pre-season camp in Spain, where they faced English Championship side Plymouth Argyle.

In preparation for the upcoming season, Orlando Pirates bolstered their ranks with Angolan star Gilberto from Petro Luanda and goalkeeper Ethan Khel from NC Professionals.

Reflecting on his early days at the club, Rasebotja expressed optimism about his integration process and building chemistry with his new teammates on the pitch.

Adjusting to Big Club Life

“I’m really excited to join a big club like Orlando Pirates.

It’s getting better day by day,” Rasebotja shared with the club’s media department.

“From the first day, the guys welcomed me well. As time goes on, I’ll get used to them and we’ll gel on the field.

It’s a work in progress.

We’ll take it one day at a time.”

Fulfilling a Dream

“Every footballer’s dream is to play for a big club,” Rasebotja continued.

“For an institution like Orlando Pirates to enquire about my services is a big career move, and I looked forward to it with enthusiasm and excitement.”

Rasebotja’s journey exemplifies the aspirations and challenges of transitioning to a prestigious football club like Orlando Pirates, where each day brings new opportunities for growth and success.
