Journalist Wisam Zoghbour, speaking on behalf of the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate, affirmed their commitment to pursuing justice at the International Criminal Court despite ongoing challenges.
He emphasized that even targeting journalists will not deter them from exposing genocide crimes and amplifying the Palestinian narrative globally.
In a significant event in São Paulo, Brazil, the Journalists and Writers Syndicates honored the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate.
The occasion featured discussions centered around the book “Genocide Isolates Israel: The Challenge of Creating a Palestinian State” by authors Nathaniel Braia and Nilson Araújo de Souza.
Participating remotely from Gaza, Wisam Zoghbour addressed the audience, highlighting the atrocities of genocide, the siege, and the severe Israeli bombardment.
The event drew Brazilian and Palestinian representatives both physically at the Vladimir Herzog Hall and online.

Among the attendees were notable figures such as the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Brazil, Ibrahim Al-Zeben, and Eduardo Viné, Secretary of the Journalists Syndicate.
Also present were Claude Hajjar from the Federation of American Arab Entities, Emir Mourad from the Palestinian Confederation of Latin America and the Caribbean, and other influential personalities from Palestinian and Brazilian leadership, academia, and journalism.
Standing Against Injustice

Despite these hardships, Palestinian journalists remain resilient in their mission to document and expose atrocities.
International Recognition and Support
Zoghbour noted the UNESCO “Freedom of Expression” Award received by Palestinian journalists in Gaza, acknowledging their sacrifices and condemning the Israeli actions against them.
He emphasized the Syndicate’s efforts to document crimes, pursue justice through international bodies like the ICC, and ensure the protection of journalists in conflict zones.
A Call for Solidarity
In closing, Zoghbour extended gratitude to the Brazilian community for their support and solidarity, urging continued efforts to amplify the Palestinian plight and hold accountable those responsible for war crimes.
The event also honored slain journalist Shireen Abu Akleh, symbolizing the ongoing struggle and resilience of Palestinian journalists in the face of adversity.
