Richards Bay FC is making headlines with their latest signings.
They’ve welcomed Siboniso Conco to the squad and are close to finalizing a deal for Siyabonga Dube, a former defender with Golden Arrows.
Recent Match and Player Performances
Both Conco and Dube had a chance to showcase their skills in the Prince Mangosuthu Legacy Cup on Saturday.
Unfortunately, the Natal Rich Boyz faced a tough defeat against Njampela FC, losing 4-3 in a nail-biting penalty shootout during the final.
Coach Brandon Truter’s Take
Richards Bay coach Brandon Truter shared his enthusiasm about the new additions.
He confirmed that Conco is officially part of the team, while negotiations for Dube are almost wrapped up.
“Conco is definitely on board, and we’re still finalizing the deal for Dube,” Truter stated.
“We’re pleased with both players.
Conco is a great winger who will add value to our squad.
As for Dube, we’re almost there with his deal.”
Conco had been under evaluation with the team for a while after his departure, while Dube was a free agent after leaving KF Liria earlier this year.
During his time abroad, Dube appeared in 16 matches and contributed with one assist.
Truter’s Vision for the Team
Reflecting on the team’s performance in the Legacy Cup, Truter acknowledged that while they are getting closer to the desired standard, there’s still work to be done before the Betway Premiership kicks off.
“Since my appointment last month, my focus has been on building a winning culture and a fearless mindset,” Truter explained.
“The boys showed they’re eager to win, even though we lost on penalties.
We’ve conceded only one goal in two games, which is a positive sign, but there’s room for improvement.”
Looking ahead, Truter is optimistic as the league season approaches, confident that the team is nearly where they need to be.
