…By Dorcas Funmi for TDPel Media. Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, has condemned the former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, over comments attributed to him regarding the dominance of power by Muslims in the state.
Omokri was responding to remarks reportedly made by El-Rufai before handing over to his successor, where he claimed that Islamic dominance in Kaduna had been successfully replicated in Nigeria and would continue.
El-Rufai’s Statements and Religious Domination
El-Rufai allegedly stated that Bola Tinubu’s victory had silenced the Christian Association of Nigeria and expressed his intention to sustain an Islamic-dominated government not only in Kaduna State but also in Nigeria as a whole for 20 years and beyond.
He was also accused of deceiving Christians during election campaigns, asserting that the Muslim/Muslim ticket was not for religious dominance, while Omokri claimed that it was actually meant for Islamic domination at both national and state levels.
Omokri’s Concerns and Warnings
Expressing his reaction on Twitter, Omokri described the video capturing El-Rufai’s statements as scary, emphasizing the level of hatred for Christianity that he observed.
He cautioned against overlooking the issue, warning that if El-Rufai were to be given a sensitive position in President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet, it could potentially ignite a religious crisis between the two major religions.
Omokri raised concerns about the potential consequences and urged attention to the matter.
