The arrest report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol indicates that Nelly, whose real name is Cornell Iral Haynes Jr., was allegedly found with four ecstasy pills. The arrest took place in an outer suburb of St. Louis.
In addition to the drug-related accusation, Nelly was also cited for driving without insurance. He was reportedly released later in the day. Despite the police report, Nelly’s attorney has strongly denied that the rapper faced drug possession charges.

After his arrest, Nelly was transferred to the Maryland Heights Police Department due to a failure to appear warrant related to a prior traffic charge. His attorney, Scott Rosenblum, contends that the warrant was mishandled.
Rosenblum also alleged that the situation began when Nelly attempted to collect casino winnings and was told he needed a background check, which seemed inconsistent with past experiences.
Rosenblum claims that Nelly was unfairly targeted and that the officer had no valid reason to search him, which led to the discovery of the alleged ecstasy. He expresses confidence that the case will not progress and is calling for an inquiry into the officer’s conduct.
