It all started with a heated argument between two students inside a school in Puente Alto, just outside Santiago, Chile.
What began as a skirmish on Thursday quickly escalated into a chaotic scene once the students’ families got involved.
After being called to the school, things took a dramatic turn as the situation spiraled out of control, captured on video by witnesses.
The Brawl Unfolds
In the footage, the chaos is evident with people clashing in the streets.
At one point, the mother of one of the students can be seen attacking the father of her son’s rival.
Authorities reported that she even stabbed the man during the altercation.
The situation intensified when the woman’s son, driving a white SUV, sped into his mother, knocking her to the ground.
More Violence Ensues
The young driver didn’t stop there. He accelerated the vehicle into the father of his rival classmate, hitting him multiple times.
In another video, the student is seen exiting the SUV and kicking the man he had run over.
The violent scene involved five adults and two students, all of whom have been arrested and are facing serious charges, including attempted homicide.
Legal and Community Reactions
Juan Cheuquiante from the Metropolitan South Regional Prosecutor’s Office outlined the severity of the charges: attempted homicide, injuries of varying degrees, and damage.
The arrest of the seven individuals reflects the gravity of the situation.
Punto Alto Mayor Germán Codina expressed his concern over the incident, noting that previous reports of violent behavior had been made but seemingly unaddressed.
He stressed the need for more effective measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
In response, police presence has been increased around the school during morning and afternoon hours to ensure safety.
