…By for TDPel Media. On Thursday, the President of the Nigerian Senate, Godswill Akpabio, publicly disclosed the twenty-eight ministerial nominees’ list sent to the Senate by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The President’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, delivered the ministerial list to the Senate on the same day.
A Blend of Technocrats and Politicians, Including Former Governors
The list, unveiled by Senate President Akpabio at precisely 01:19 pm, comprises a diverse mix of technocrats and politicians, with some prominent former Governors among the nominees.
Notably, the much-awaited list includes Malam Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State, Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, Muhammed Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa State, and David Umahi of Ebonyi State.
Inclusion of Technocrat Adebayo Adelabu
One of the notable technocrats featured on President Tinubu’s ministerial list is Adebayo Adelabu, a former deputy governor of operations at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
Adelabu had previously contested in the governorship election in Oyo State. During the election, he represented the Accord Party and secured the third position with 38,357 votes.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Teslim Folarin, garnered 256,685 votes, while Governor Seyi Makinde of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) emerged as the winner with 563,756 votes in the March 18th election.
As the Senate President read out the names of President Tinubu’s ministerial nominees before his colleagues, the list showcased a blend of experience, expertise, and political acumen.
