After a stint away, 22-year-old forward Boitumelo Radiopane is back at Orlando Pirates, but his quest for playing time hasn’t been smooth sailing.
The talented striker, who gained attention for his skills, is now navigating the challenges of reintegration into the squad.
His former youth coach has shared optimistic views about his future.
Orlando Pirates Welcomes Back Radiopane
Radiopane, hailing from Sebokeng, first made headlines in 2019 during the DStv Diski Challenge.
His impressive performance led to a loan deal with Cape Town Spurs, where he spent two seasons honing his skills.
In late August, the Pirates officially announced his return, confirming that he would don the number 42 jersey this season.
Despite his return, the forward has yet to make a significant impact on the field.
So far, he’s only had the opportunity to step in as a late substitute in two matches, leaving fans eager to see more of his talent.
Support from His Former Coach
Themba Dlamini, Radiopane’s former coach at the School of Excellence, believes the young striker has the potential for greatness.
Dlamini confidently remarked, “When we talk about Boitumelo Radiopane, we’re talking about a top striker, no doubt about it.”
He acknowledged Radiopane’s past achievements, stating, “People have seen what he’s capable of when it comes to scoring goals.
He excelled in the DDC, and although his loan at Cape Town Spurs was fruitful, an injury hindered his progress.”
Dlamini expressed his satisfaction with Radiopane’s return to Orlando Pirates, emphasizing the importance of careful management of his workload.
He concluded, “If he can stay injury-free and get some game time, I have no doubt he’ll start delivering on the pitch.”
Looking Ahead
With encouraging words from his former coach, fans are hopeful that Boitumelo Radiopane will soon find his rhythm and contribute significantly to Orlando Pirates.
What lies ahead for this promising young talent remains to be seen.
