Nicolas Jackson avoids FA punishment for altercation with Morato while Chelsea and Nottingham Forest face charges over heated brawl at Stamford Bridge

In the aftermath of Sunday’s fiery encounter between Chelsea and Nottingham Forest, forward Nicolas Jackson has been spared any retrospective action from the FA, despite shoving Morato in the face during a heated moment.

However, both clubs now face charges related to a mass altercation that erupted late in the game.

VAR Review Clears Jackson

Jackson’s involvement came after he ran from the substitutes’ bench and engaged in the scuffle.

VAR official Jarred Gillett thoroughly reviewed the incident but determined that Jackson’s actions didn’t meet the threshold for violent conduct.

Referee Chris Kavanagh included the details in his match report, and the authorities have decided not to pursue any further disciplinary measures against the player.

Social Media Spotlight

The incident quickly gained attention on social media, with footage of Jackson appearing to slap Morato making the rounds.

The scuffle unfolded after Forest’s Neco Williams shoved Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella into coach Enzo Maresca, who fell over as a result.

Both teams got involved in the confrontation, with tensions running high at Stamford Bridge.

FA Charges Chelsea and Forest

While Jackson escapes individual punishment, Chelsea and Nottingham Forest have been charged by the FA for failing to control their players during what was described as a “mass confrontation.”

The brawl, which occurred around the 88th minute, saw several players from both sides pushing and shoving, and the FA is now waiting for responses from both clubs.

Repeat Offenders?

Chelsea has been in hot water with the FA before, having been fined £50,000 for receiving multiple yellow cards in the same match.

This fine follows a similar £25,000 penalty they incurred for the same offense in a previous match against Bournemouth.

Both clubs now have until Thursday, October 10, to respond to the latest charges. What comes next for them remains to be seen.
