Manchester City has just launched their fourth kit for the 2024-25 season, and it’s making waves for all the right reasons.
This new design comes with a special twist, thanks to Noel Gallagher, the iconic Oasis frontman and a lifelong City fan.
A Nod to Oasis and Definitely Maybe
The Premier League champions have drawn inspiration from Oasis’ groundbreaking debut album, Definitely Maybe, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary.
The new kit features ‘marine blue supersonic waves,’ reflecting the album’s iconic cover.
Named “Definitely City” by kit maker Puma, this design pays homage to the music that shaped a generation.
Gallagher’s Passion for City and the Kit
Noel Gallagher expressed his deep connection to Manchester City, sharing how his love for the club predates his music career.
“I loved City before I knew what music was,” the 57-year-old remarked on the club’s website.
He reminisced about his early days at Maine Road with his brother Liam, long before Oasis hit the big time in the 1990s.
Gallagher described the design process as effortless.
“When PUMA approached us about designing a kit, it took about five seconds to agree.
The color palette mirrors that of Definitely Maybe—it’s unique but striking, and I think it looks great.
It’s important that fans look good when they represent our club.”
A Special Anniversary and Tour News
The release of this kit comes on the heels of another major announcement: Noel and Liam Gallagher have ended their long-standing feud and are reuniting for a tour.
Their 14-show series kicks off on July 4 and runs through August 17, with stops including Cardiff’s Principality Stadium, Heaton Park in Manchester, Wembley in London, Murrayfield in Edinburgh, and Croke Park in Dublin.
Despite some fans grumbling about ticket prices, the excitement for the tour remains high.
First Appearance on September 18
Manchester City will debut their new kit on September 18 when they face Inter Milan at the Etihad Stadium in the Champions League.
The kit will also make appearances in select European fixtures throughout the season.
What’s next for City and Oasis? Only time will tell, but one thing is for sure: both the club and the band are continuing to make headlines in exciting ways.
