…By Roland Peterson for TDPel Media. Police have launched a murder investigation after a man was stabbed to death at a McDonald’s restaurant in Bath, Somerset.
Emergency services were alerted by concerned members of the public who saw the man struggling with serious injuries at the fast-food chain at 3.30 am on May 7.
Despite attempts by the public to restrain the alleged suspect, the victim died at the scene.
One witness said he saw a male stab another male outside the restaurant and security staff were able to hold down the attacker until the police arrived.
Police divers have been searching the nearby river while forensic officers also attended the scene.
Avon and Somerset Police have arrested three people on suspicion of murder, and Chief Inspector Ronnie Lungu confirmed in a statement that a murder investigation is underway.
The victim’s family has been informed but has yet to formally identify the body.
A post-mortem is expected to take place in the coming days.
Lungu appealed to the public to avoid speculating on the possible circumstances of the incident to protect the welfare of the victim’s family and to avoid interfering with the ongoing police investigation.
