…By Lola Smith for TDPel Media. Tyrique Hyde has been revealed as the second contestant for the upcoming summer edition of Love Island 2023.
Unlike other hopefuls entering the villa in search of love, Tyrique already has an advantage as he is “best friends” with a former Islander.
His close friendship with Toby Aromolaran, who participated in series seven and reached the final with his now ex-girlfriend Chloe Burrows, gives Tyrique a unique connection to the Love Island world.
Growing up together and being in the same school class, Tyrique and Toby share a strong bond.
Both are also semi-professional football players.
Tyrique currently plays in central midfield for Lewes FC, having previously been part of Dartford FC until 2022.
His father, Micah Hyde, is a well-known figure in football, having played for Watford in the Premier League and now serving as the head coach for Queens Park Rangers Under 18s.
When asked about what he plans to bring to the Love Island villa, Tyrique expressed his confidence, good energy, and honesty.
He emphasized that he is not one to shy away from expressing his opinions and going after what he wants.
In addition to his football career, Tyrique also shared a personal detail about being deaf in his right ear.
He explained the significance of a tattoo next to his left ear, symbolizing strength and power in his functioning ear.
Love Island is set to return on Monday, June 5, with Maya Jama as the host and Ian Stirling providing the voiceover.
