Officials of the Federal Government are currently engaged in a significant meeting with the leadership of organized labor.
The meeting is taking place at the Presidential Villa in Abuja and is of great importance in the current context.
Labour Delegation Led by Joe Ajaero
On Sunday, Joe Ajaero, the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), led a delegation of labor representatives to the Conference Hall of the Permanent Secretary at the State House.
The meeting commenced at 3:15 pm and brought together key figures from the labor movement, including Nuhu Toro, the Secretary of the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC), and Emma Ugbaja, representing NLC.
Government Team Led by Femi Gbajabiamila
The government’s delegation is led by Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to the President.
The team also includes prominent officials such as Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, the Head of Service of the Federation, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, the National Security Adviser (NSA), Simon Lalong, the Minister of Labour and Employment, Nkeiruka Onyejecha, the Minister of State, Wale Edun, the Minister of Finance, Atiku Bagudu, the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, and Beta Edu, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.
Additionally, several directors from the Ministry of Labour and Employment are present.
Closed-Door Discussions
The meeting did not have an opening ceremony and proceeded directly into closed-door discussions. This meeting holds significance in the context of ongoing developments related to organized labor and their demands.
