Leicester City are in discussions with Arsenal about a potential loan move for striker Reiss Nelson this summer, as reported by The Sun.
The 24-year-old forward, who has been with Arsenal since his youth, is looking at a fresh start after a relatively quiet season.
Last season, Nelson saw limited action with only one Premier League start to his name.
He featured 14 times as a substitute under Mikel Arteta but didn’t manage to score or provide an assist.
His lone league start came in Arsenal’s 2-0 victory over Luton in April.
Over the past two years, he has made just 10 starts for his boyhood club.
Nelson’s career has already included loan spells in the Bundesliga with Hoffenheim during the 2018-19 season and a year with Feyenoord.
Now, it seems he’s set for another temporary move, this time to Leicester City.
This move would reunite him with Steve Cooper, his former youth team manager for England’s Under-16 and Under-17 squads.
The deal could include an obligation for Leicester to buy Nelson permanently.
Steve Cooper’s New Challenge
Steve Cooper, who signed a three-year contract with Leicester City in June, is eager to strengthen his squad as he starts his tenure.
Cooper had been out of work since being dismissed by Nottingham Forest last December following a difficult run of games.
Arsenal’s Summer Shake-Up
Arsenal might be facing a summer of change with several homegrown players potentially leaving.
Emile Smith Rowe is also rumored to be on the move, with Fulham’s £30 million bid recently turned down.
Now, according to Fabrizio Romano, Crystal Palace is expected to make a new offer for the 23-year-old midfielder.
