Keagan Dolly Resumes Training with SuperSport United in Pretoria Amid Speculations of Future Opportunities Following Kaizer Chiefs Release

Former Kaizer Chiefs and Sundowns star Keagan Dolly is currently training with SuperSport United during the international break.

This development raises questions about his future in the league.

Training with SuperSport United

Reports from SoccerLaduma indicate that Dolly has been spotted training with SuperSport United.

Interestingly, he was previously linked to the club at the beginning of the season.

After being released by Kaizer Chiefs following the 2023-2024 season, Dolly found himself looking for new opportunities.

SuperSport’s head coach, Gavin Hunt, chose to sign Vincent Pule from Pirates instead of bringing Dolly on board.

Throughout his last season at Kaizer Chiefs, the 31-year-old midfielder faced challenges, making only eight appearances due to a string of injuries that plagued his three-and-a-half-year stint at Naturena.

A Disappointing Tenure at Kaizer Chiefs

Dolly’s time at Kaizer Chiefs didn’t live up to expectations.

Once a standout winger at Montpellier and Sundowns, he struggled to find his footing at Chiefs after joining in July 2021.

In total, he made 67 appearances, contributing 14 goals and 11 assists.

Although he was part of the team that won the CAF Champions League in 2016, he hasn’t represented Bafana Bafana since 2022, when he last played in a friendly against France.

Exciting Matches Ahead

Looking at the upcoming fixtures, the focus shifts to 32-year-old striker Ranga Chivaviro.

He had a rocky start with the Chiefs but seems to be turning things around in the 2024-2025 season.

After a stellar run with Gallants, where he scored 17 goals in 29 matches last season, Chivaviro has already found the net in consecutive games for Chiefs, including a recent match against Sundowns.

The two teams will face off in the friendly Cufa Cup on Sunday, October 13, promising an exciting encounter.

Upcoming Betway Premiership Fixtures

As for Kaizer Chiefs, they have a brief wait before their next Betway Premiership match.

They’ve kicked off the season with a respectable record of two wins in three games, despite a recent loss to Sundowns.

The team is aiming to at least secure a spot in next season’s MTN8.

Here’s a look at their upcoming fixtures as head coach Nabi continues to navigate his role at Naturena, with several players expected to return from injuries:

  • SuperSport United vs. Kaizer Chiefs – Saturday, October 26, Lucas Moripe Stadium, 17:30 kickoff
  • Magesi FC vs. Kaizer Chiefs – Wednesday, October 30, Old Peter Mokaba Stadium, 19:30 kickoff
  • Kaizer Chiefs vs. Royal AM – Sunday, November 9, FNB Stadium, 17:30 kickoff

With all these developments, it will be intriguing to see how Dolly’s training with SuperSport unfolds and what lies ahead for him and the Chiefs.
