Kaizer Chiefs supporters were finally treated to a thrilling debut from Inacio Miguel as Amakhosi secured a 2-1 victory over Marumo Gallants.
The Angolan defender impressed so much that Reggie Ndlovu, the well-known Zulu commentator, has already given him a nickname.
Kaizer Chiefs Introduce Inacio Miguel
Amakhosi has been busy in the transfer market, and their latest acquisition is Inacio Miguel, a 28-year-old central defender from Angola.
Miguel, who was born in Portugal, played a crucial role in Petro de Luanda’s campaign in the CAF Champions League and helped his team clinch Angola’s domestic league title last season.
He has also earned five caps for the Angolan national team, according to Kaizer Chiefs, as reported by TimesLIVE.
Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr expressed his enthusiasm about the new signing:
“We are thrilled to have Inácio Miguel join our squad.
We’ve been following his career closely and are confident that his experience, skill, and passion will be a great asset to the team.
His presence embodies the spirit of Chiefs, and we’re excited to see the impact he’ll make as he continues his career in South Africa,” Motaung Jr said.
A New Nickname for Inacio Miguel
Inacio Miguel’s commanding presence on the field and his respectful demeanor towards teammates have not gone unnoticed.
Reggie Ndlovu from SuperSport TV has dubbed him “iSoja” (The Soldier) in recognition of his disciplined and impressive playing style.
Bradley Cross Joins Kaizer Chiefs
Coach Nasreddine Nabi is actively shaping his new squad, and one of the fresh faces is Bradley Cross.
The former Maritzburg United and Golden Arrows defender has signed a four-year contract with Kaizer Chiefs.
After making 24 appearances for Golden Arrows last season, Cross is eager to contribute to Amakhosi.
“Kaizer Chiefs are excited to welcome their sixth signing of the current transfer window, Bradley Cross, from Golden Arrows.
Known for his exceptional skills and versatility, the talented left-back has committed to the club for the next four years,” stated Amakhosi.
Cross, who began his career with Schalke 04’s Under-19 team in Germany and captained Newcastle United’s U21 and U23 teams in England, is celebrated for his dynamic play and strong defensive skills.
His stellar performance in the Premier Soccer League earned him a spot on the national team, Bafana Bafana, under coach Hugo Broos.
