Kaizer Chiefs Secure Transfer of Bradley Cross from Golden Arrows Amidst Ongoing Injuries and Squad Overhaul in Johannesburg

As we dive into the transfer window, Kaizer Chiefs are making waves with their latest signings.

We’re nearing the end of the window, and so far, the team has brought in four new faces, with more expected to join soon.

Here’s a roundup of the latest news since last week.

Bradley Cross Joins Amakhosi

If you haven’t been following, Kaizer Chiefs’ first signing of the window was Bongani Sam, who joined in July.

Unfortunately, the 23-year-old left-back has been sidelined with an ACL injury and will be out for a few months.

In the meantime, Amakhosi are on the verge of announcing a new left-back.

Reports suggest that Bradley Cross from Golden Arrows, who previously played for Newcastle in England, is set to join the team.

Who is Bradley Cross?

Bradley Cross began his career with Mpumalanga Black Aces and Bidvest Wits before moving to Schalke’s U19s in Germany.

In 2022, he joined Newcastle’s U21s but returned to South Africa later that year to train with SuperSport United.

Despite impressing coach Gavin Hunt, Cross didn’t secure a spot with Kaizer Chiefs at the time.

He then joined Maritzburg United before making a move to Golden Arrows last season.

Kaizer Chiefs Closing in on Cross

After missing out on other targets like Fawaaz Basadien from Stellenbosch FC and Riaan Hanamub from AmaZulu, Kaizer Chiefs have turned their attention to Cross.

According to iDiski Times’ Sinethemba Makonco, Chiefs and Golden Arrows have agreed on the terms for the transfer.

The report mentions that “Kaizer Chiefs have reached an agreement with Lamontville Golden Arrows for the transfer of Bafana Bafana defender Bradley Cross.”

The 23-year-old defender, who made 24 appearances last season and was called up by Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, is set to undergo medicals and finalize personal terms soon.
