It looks like Jennifer Lopez might be gearing up for a major real estate acquisition following her recent divorce from Ben Affleck.
The star is reportedly eyeing the prestigious Azria Estate located in the upscale Holmby Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles.
Exploring the Azria Estate
Sources close to the situation have revealed that Lopez, 55, is close to finalizing a deal for the sprawling 30,000 square-foot estate, which has a hefty price tag of $55 million.
Lopez is said to be making an offer in the range of $30 million to $39 million.
The estate, named after the late fashion designer Max Azria, who passed away in May 2019, boasts 14 bedrooms and an array of luxurious amenities including a home theater and an infinity pool.
Complications and Legal Battles
However, the purchase isn’t without its complications.
Billionaire Ron Burkle had previously placed a $30 million bid for the estate, leading to a legal dispute in May between Burkle and Azria’s widow, Lubov Azria, over alleged contract breaches.
Despite these hurdles, Lopez is actively engaged with both parties and is working with real estate agents Branden and Rayni Williams of The Beverly Hills Estates.
Lopez’s Interest and History with the Property
Lopez’s interest in the Azria Estate isn’t new; she had previously toured the property last year with Affleck during their house-hunting phase.
The estate also served as a filming location for her recent movie, Atlas.
Coincidentally, the estate is located near a Los Angeles mansion that her ex, Sean “Diddy” Combs, recently put up for sale for $61 million.
Neighborhood and Property Features
The Azria Estate offers an impressive list of features, including manicured gardens, a gym, a wine cellar, a greenhouse, a gaming room, a guest house, a tennis court, and a large motor court.
The Georgian Colonial-style home, designed by renowned architect Paul Williams in the 1930s, is also equipped with a life-size chessboard and provides stunning views of the greater Los Angeles area.
Azria had invested around $30 million in renovations since purchasing the property in 2005.
Real Estate Moves Amidst the Divorce
Lopez’s potential new purchase is just one part of the major real estate shuffle following her divorce from Affleck.
The couple is looking to sell their $68 million estate, Crestview Manor, while Affleck has moved into a Brentwood mansion he acquired over the summer.
The Backstory
Lopez filed for divorce on August 20, 2024, marking two years since their second wedding at Affleck’s estate in Savannah, Georgia.
Their relationship had rekindled in 2021 after nearly 17 years, leading to a surprise wedding in Las Vegas on July 16, 2022.
Their second ceremony took place on August 20, 2022, with a guest list that included Matt Damon, Kevin Smith, and other notable figures.
Lopez, who has 16-year-old twins Max and Emme from her previous marriage to Marc Anthony, and Affleck, who shares three children with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner, are now navigating the complexities of their split and subsequent property transactions.
