Jack White Surprises Fans with New Album No Name Released as Free Vinyl Exclusively at Third Man Records Shops in London, Detroit, and Nashville

Jack White is known for keeping fans on their toes. As the head of his own label and owner of several vinyl stores, he’s never shy about shaking things up.

In 2022, for instance, he released two solo albums that were worlds apart and even pulled off an unexpected live set at Glastonbury. Now, White’s latest stunt is quite the head-turner: his new album, *No Name*, initially appeared as a free vinyl giveaway with purchases at his Third Man Records locations in London, Detroit, and Nashville.

Fans quickly shared these tracks online with White’s blessing, and today, *No Name* officially drops on blue vinyl and streaming services.

The album first appeared two weeks ago in an intriguing form—its white sleeve was blank save for the words “no name” stamped on the label. There were no song titles or credits, not even White’s name.

Despite the mystery, it was clear this was his sixth solo effort.

White, once known for his raw sound with The White Stripes, has returned to his garage-rock roots with this album. His previous 2022 releases showed hints of his return to rock, but *No Name* is a full embrace of his earlier, edgier style.

Produced and mixed by White himself, the album features short, energetic tracks loaded with power chords and shifting moods.

Songs like “Bombing Out” mix rough rock with a nod to Sam Cooke’s classic, while “Number One With A Bullet” channels Deep Purple’s hard rock vibe.

The album also offers some quirky tracks.

“It’s Rough On Rats (If You’re Asking)” humorously suggests that rats are suffering more from the cost-of-living crisis, and “That’s How I’m Feeling” grooves with a funky riff.

White’s versatility shines through in “Underground,” a country-rock tune with frenetic slide guitar, and “Archbishop Harold Holmes,” where he delivers a high-energy rap. With *No Name*, White continues to push boundaries and captivate his audience with his ever-evolving musical persona.

Orville Peck’s *Stampede*: A Star-Studded Duets Album

Orville Peck has been making waves in country music since his 2019 debut, *Pony*. Now, with his new album *Stampede*, Peck continues to break barriers.

This duets album features a mix of covers and original songs, and showcases a lineup of impressive collaborators.

Elton John makes an appearance on “Saturday Night’s Alright (For Fighting),” bringing a fresh Nashville twist to the classic rock anthem.

Kylie Minogue adds her signature glamour to “Midnight Ride,” while Noah Cyrus delivers a track that echoes her sister Miley’s style on “How Far Will We Take It?”.

Peck also joins forces with Willie Nelson for a charming rendition of Ned Sublette’s 1981 ballad “Cowboys Are Frequently, Secretly Fond Of Each Other.”

Peck’s ability to seamlessly switch styles is on full display.

He pairs with Teddy Swims for a soulful take on “Ever You’re Gone” and teams up with bluegrass star Molly Tuttle on a spirited version of “Papa Was A Rodeo.”

Although some tracks like “Death Valley High” see other artists taking the spotlight, the album is a strong collection of 50-50 collaborations that highlight Peck’s authentic touch in country-soul.

Kacey Musgraves: *Deeper Into The Well*

Kacey Musgraves’ album *Deeper Well*, originally released in March, has been reissued as *Deeper Into The Well* with seven new tracks, making it perfect for laid-back summer listening.

Musgraves, who first made a splash with her honest lyrics and genre-blending sound, continues to deliver with this expanded edition.

The new tracks showcase her talent for crafting simple yet poignant love songs. “Ruthless” celebrates a new romance, while “Irish Goodbye” reflects on the pain of a breakup.

Musgraves also pays homage to her roots with “Little Sister,” a piano ballad reminiscent of Carole King’s work.

Additionally, the album features two standout duets. Musgraves collaborates with Leon Bridges on the soulful “Superbloom” and with Boston folk trio Tiny Habits on the gently strummed “Perfection.” With this reissue, Musgraves proves that her creative well is still full of depth and charm.
