iPhone Battery Troubles? You Are charging your iPhone Wrongly – See This Guide

About 1 billion people around the world using iPhone has probably experienced one kind of battery issue or the other.
Battery drain is one of the most prevalent concerns among iPhone users, however this is mostly due to various built-in apps that consume the battery considerably more quickly. Also is the heavy processor and other hardware packaged into the little space which makes iPhones object of desire.
While there are a slew of advice on how to extend the life of your iPhone’s battery, Apple has a number of tricks up its sleeve to help you get the most out of your smartphone.
One of the standout tips is that you may have been charging your iPhone completely wrong – that’s if you charge your device with its case on.
According to the Apple, certain styles of cases generate excess heat, which can affect battery capacity.
“If you notice that your device gets hot when you charge it, take it out of its case first. For Apple Watch Edition models, make sure the cover of the magnetic charging case is off,” Apple says on its website.

  • Avoid extreme temperatures: The tech giant says low or high-temperature conditions might cause your iPhone to change its behaviour for the worst. It advises that the most ideal temperatures to keep your phone at, is between 16 to 22C (62 to 72F). What about regions with higher temperatures than this, you may ask. Well, ask Apple
  • No 100% or no charging for long-term storage: If you plan on storing your phone long term, it is recommended that you charge it to around 50%. Apple says, “If you store a device when its battery is fully discharged, the battery could fall into a deep discharge state, which renders it incapable of holding a charge.” If you plan to store your device for longer than six months, charge it to 50% every six months
  • Enable low power mode: This is probably the easiest way to extend your device’s power life. This function informs you when your battery level goes down to 20%, and again at 10%, and lets you turn on Low Power Mode with one tap. It temporarily halts some apps, tools and features on your phone from working. “You can still use key functions like making and receiving phone calls, email and messages, accessing the Internet and more. And when your phone charges up again, Low Power Mode automatically switches off,” says Apple.
