Harrysong’s Grievance Against Ex-Label Boss Kcee
Renowned Nigerian singer Harrysong, through a series of posts on his Instagram story, has publicly addressed his former label boss, Kcee, accusing him of withholding debt and royalties.
The Singer’s Plea for Resolution
Expressing his frustration, Harrysong urged Kcee to repay the money owed to him and release his songs that have been under the label’s possession. He specifically mentioned several of his hit tracks, including “Reggae Blues,” “Baba for the Girls,” and “Samankwe,” from which Kcee has allegedly been receiving 100 percent of the royalties.
Demanding Fairness and Ownership
Harrysong pleaded for fairness, emphasizing that while Kcee can take his rightful share, he should receive what is rightfully his. He acknowledged initiating his plea with a tone of request due to Kcee’s perceived dominance, referring to him as the “power mike.”
Appeal for Equity and Acknowledgment
The singer invoked a prayer, hoping that their hard work in creating music wouldn’t result in another person unfairly reaping the rewards. Harrysong emphasized that the songs in question belong to him and appealed for fairness in reclaiming what rightfully belongs to him.
In Harrysong’s words:
“I’m Here To beg you all to help me and follow me Beg Kingsley Okonkwo, known as kcee. To refund my money and release my songs At least, he can take his percentage, and give me wat is rightfully mine, For more than 7 years now, he’s been the one collecting 100 percent of my Royaltie from Reggea blues, baba for the girls, samankwe, better Pikin, Ofeshe, (all my big songs)…”
