Emmanuel Letlotlo, once a rising star at Kaizer Chiefs, is embarking on an exciting new journey to revitalize his football career.
This time, he’s setting his sights on the Mpumalanga ABC Motsepe League, where he has signed with Appollo XI FC for the 2024/25 season.
Letting the Games Begin
The Mpumalanga amateur league is already underway, with all 18 teams having played four matches.
Appollo XI is making a solid impression, currently sitting in fourth place with nine points, thanks to three wins and just one loss.
Letlotlo isn’t new to the ABC Motsepe League.
Before joining Appollo XI, he played for Postmasburg FC in the Northern Cape, which gives him valuable insight into the league’s dynamics.
Aiming for the Playoffs
With Letlotlo on board, Appollo XI hopes to achieve their goal of qualifying for the ABC League National Playoffs, aiming for a shot at promotion to the Motsepe Foundation Championship next season.
Letlotlo’s experience in the third tier of South African football is expected to be a significant asset, as he has previously played for teams like Baroka FC and Royal AM in the Premier Soccer League.
His journey in football took a significant turn when he joined the Amakhosi reserve team, where he became the top scorer in the Diski Challenge.
This achievement earned him a promotion to the first team in May 2016, and he made his debut against Bidvest Wits later that year.
However, after a challenging time with limited playing opportunities, he parted ways with the Chiefs in 2019 and subsequently joined Royal AM in the second tier.
Upcoming Challenge for Appollo XI
Looking ahead, Appollo XI will face Shimadel FC on Saturday, October 26, away from home.
The match is set to kick off at 15:00, and all eyes will be on Letlotlo as he leads the attack for his new team.
With high expectations riding on his shoulders, it’ll be exciting to see how he performs in this fresh chapter of his football career.
