Farmer in Lancashire Arrested After Allegedly Hogtying Two Trespassers to His Quad Bike and Racing Them to Police Station

What began as a casual Saturday evening ride through a field took an unexpected turn for two young men, aged 17 and 20, in Lancashire.

Leland Hornby, 17, shared his side of the story, which involved a locked gate, a missing electric bike, and a confrontation with a farmer.

After leaving his bike overnight on the farmer’s land, Hornby returned the next day, only to find the bike gone.

Before he and his friend could figure out what to do next, the farmer appeared, and things escalated quickly.

A Drastic Response

Hornby and his friend soon found themselves in a tense situation.

The 52-year-old farmer allegedly tackled them to the ground, pulling their hoods over their heads and tying them up.

With their hands and feet bound, the two were strapped across the front and back of the farmer’s quad bike.

Hornby, still shaken from the experience, described how terrifying the ride was, as they were barely secured to the vehicle and nearly fell off several times as they sped toward the local police station.

The Police Station Drama

Upon arriving at the police station, the situation took an unexpected turn yet again.

Instead of interrogating the young men for trespassing, the police officers directed their attention to the farmer.

They arrested him on suspicion of false imprisonment and assault, leaving many to question why he hadn’t simply called the authorities rather than taking matters into his own hands.

Public Reaction and Support for the Farmer

Despite the legal trouble, the farmer’s bold actions sparked a wave of support online.

Many social media users hailed him as a hero, with comments praising his unconventional approach to dealing with trespassers.

Some called it “vigilante justice” while others expressed hope to see more actions like this in the future.

Yet, not everyone was on board, with Hornby’s mother expressing shock and fear over how the situation had been handled.

What Happens Next?

The farmer has since been released on bail while further investigations are underway.

As authorities continue to look into the case, it raises important questions about how far someone can go to protect their property and when the line between defense and criminality gets crossed.

Only time will tell what the final outcome of this unusual case will be, but for now, it remains a topic of heated debate.
