British Diplomat’s Rented Essex Home Becomes the Center of Terrorist Activities After Islamist Preacher Anjem Choudary Moves In

A surprising revelation has come to light about a British diplomat who leased out her terraced house to the notorious extremist Anjem Choudary.

The diplomat, who works for the Foreign Office, rented out the Essex property to Choudary and his family, only for counter-terrorism officers to raid the house shortly after he moved in.

Choudary, a 57-year-old Islamist preacher, was living in the three-bedroom property, valued at approximately £550,000, just weeks before a dramatic dawn raid by the police.

During his stay, Choudary was active in directing the extremist group al-Muhajiroun (ALM) and delivering sermons to followers worldwide from this very location.

Local residents were stunned by the news of Choudary’s conviction for leading a terrorist organization.

A nearby couple shared their unease, noting they avoided him and warned their children to stay away.

They also mentioned that local mosque members were unhappy with his presence, even though they couldn’t dictate who prays there.

The house, which had been listed for rent since June of last year, saw Choudary’s family move out as he faced serious terror charges.

Recently, Choudary was found guilty of directing a terrorist organization at Woolwich Crown Court, becoming the first Brit to be convicted under anti-terror laws for membership in ALM.

International Operation and Choudary’s Fall

The conviction followed a groundbreaking joint operation involving UK, Canadian, and US authorities aimed at neutralizing Choudary’s influence.

He was found guilty on multiple counts, including directing and supporting a proscribed group.

Choudary, who had previously served a prison sentence for encouraging ISIS support, continued his radical activities after his release, recruiting young followers and delivering numerous lectures globally.

Preaching and Community Impact

During his brief stay in Essex, Choudary attended the local Masjid Adam Mosque but was barred from preaching there.

A mosque trustee acknowledged that while Choudary did not create any disturbances, the community was aware of his controversial background and did not support his preaching activities.

Local Sentiments

One neighbor labeled Choudary as ‘mental’ for not changing his ways despite previous imprisonment, while another criticized him for causing division and negatively impacting the local community’s perception of Islam.

Many neighbors, particularly those of the Muslim faith, were displeased with Choudary’s presence and the unwanted association it brought.
