On July 31, as tensions escalated outside the hotel, Destiny was spotted heading to a nearby Shell Garage, where she purchased two cartons of eggs.

Despite not directly engaging in the violence, Destiny was accused of “aiding and abetting” those involved by supplying them with ammunition, according to prosecutor Mr. Gavin Howie.
CCTV footage captured her buying the eggs and returning to the protest scene with a white carrier bag in hand.
Videos later revealed her standing out in that bright yellow dress, leading to her self-surrender to the police on September 7 after they issued a public appeal for information.

Mr. Howie emphasized that Destiny’s decision to return to the protest was misguided.
Instead of walking away from the chaos, she approached a group of teenagers and handed them the eggs, which were then launched towards police officers stationed at the entrance of the hotel.
The prosecutor labeled her actions as a classic case of aiding the rioters by supplying them with the means to escalate the violence.
Destiny later told authorities that she had stumbled upon the protest by accident and was unaware of the situation’s seriousness, including the violent events in Southport that had incited the unrest.
Despite her claims, the court found that her actions contributed to the overall chaos, encouraging others to join in.

This protest was just one of many fueled by misinformation regarding a recent murder case, which had sparked far-right demonstrations across the UK.
The summer saw various protests escalate into violence, with individuals looting shops and targeting mosques and hotels.
While Destiny managed to avoid prison time, other participants in the riots were not so fortunate.
In a related case, Drew Jarvis, 19, was sentenced to three years in prison after being filmed throwing a brick at police during another protest in Rotherham.
His violent actions, captured from a hotel window, were part of a larger pattern of unrest during that summer.
Court Rulings and Accountability
Meanwhile, Barbara Barker, 52, faced charges for buying eggs and water for rioters.
Prosecutors argued she was a willing participant in the disturbances.
In another instance, a laborer was sentenced to three years for storming a hotel during the far-right riots, highlighting the serious legal repercussions for those involved.
Defending Destiny, her lawyer, Ms. Verity Quaite, described her as immature and foolish, noting her lack of prior convictions.
Destiny, residing in Manchester, pleaded guilty to the charge of violent disorder.
She received a 16-month sentence in a young offenders institute, which was suspended for 18 months, along with community service and financial penalties.
The Judge’s Remarks
During sentencing, Judge Alan Conrad QC didn’t hold back in his criticism, labeling Destiny’s actions as “extremely stupid.”
He pointed out the chaotic backdrop of misinformation and hateful rhetoric that had fueled the violence.
Although she didn’t participate in the violence directly, her decision to purchase and pass on the eggs played a part in the disorder.
