Attacks in Kuduru and Nearby Areas
In a tragic series of events, several communities in the Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory were targeted by bandits.
Kuduru hamlet faced a harrowing incident where 39 individuals were abducted, resulting in the loss of four lives.
Moreover, the assailants extended their attacks to the neighboring settlements of Garam and Azu in Niger State.
Garam Assaults
On December 23, Garam, located a mere five minutes from Bwari town, fell victim to bandit aggression.
This attack led to the abduction of twelve individuals and the tragic killing of a pastor affiliated with the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).
Recurring Attacks and Abductions
The assaults persisted, escalating further in subsequent days.
Another invasion struck Kuduru on December 28, resulting in the abduction of eighteen more people.
Simultaneously, Azu faced the brunt of bandit raids on December 29, claiming three lives and leading to the kidnapping of eight individuals.
Eyewitness Testimony
An eyewitness account provided a chilling insight into the nature of the attacks.
According to a resident named Mrs. Juliana from Garam, the bandits, after entering a house, kidnapped two boys who guided them to their intended target’s residence.
Once there, the entire family was abducted.
Tragically, the targeted individual, a pastor at RCCG, was shot in front of his wife and their three children before the assailants left the premises.
